2018 CTA Budget Public Hearing

The Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) will hold a public budget hearing on Tuesday, December 12, 2017. The meeting will take place at 6 p.m. at the CTA Headquarters (567 W. Lake Street, Chicago, IL 60661). At the hearing, CTA officials will outline the proposed 2018 budget, which include a $.25 base fare increase and a $5.00 rise to the 30-day pass.

Please keep in mind, written and oral comments will be taken into consideration prior to Chicago Transit Board action. This input will be welcomed at the hearing or by correspondence addressed to Gregory P. Longhini, Assistant Secretary of the Board, Chicago Transit Authority, P.O. Box 7567, Chicago, Illinois 60680-7567. Comments also may be submitted in writing either via email to: or via fax: 312-681-5035. The deadline to submit written comments is noon on Wednesday, December 13, 2017.

002 District Safety Meeting

The 002nd District will host an event to share safety tips to avoid the possibility of being a victim. They will also have a guest speaker who was a part of the criminal element, but is now a college professor. He will share what he looked for when he chose his victims.  Time permitting there will be a Q & A session after the guest speaker. The event will take place 12/4/17 from 6:30p.m, to 7:30 p.m. at Oakwood Shores located at 3859 S. Vincennes. We looking forward to seeing you there.

Qumbya Housing Cooperative invites you to a community meeting to discuss itsspecial use application for the property located at 5225 S. Blackstone, Chicago, Illinois.  Please be advised that Qumbya is seeking a special use permit so that it may maintain its use of the Property.  The special use permit will allow Qumbya to operate the Property in the same manner as it has for the past 17 years.  The special use permit will not change the zoning but is an application to the City to permit Qumbya to continue to use the Property in the same manner as the past 17 years.  There will be no change to the Property.
