The Bronzeville Community Development Partnership, 4th Ward Ald. Sophia King and Clean and Green in conjunction Friends of the Park will hosts its annual Earth Day clean-up from Ellis Park to the Great Migration Extension Bridge along 35th Street from Cottage Grove to Lake Shore Drive. Join us as we beautify our community park, streets and end with mulching flower beds around the entrance of the Great Migration Centennial Bridge. Afterwards, view the commemorration plaque created by renowned artist David Anthony Grear and continue the afternoon by taking a walk over the bridge to view the outdoor Gathering Space La Ronda Parakata (https://www.fieldmuseum.org/file/585821) in the Burnham Wildlife Corridor.
Friends of the Parks’ Earth Day Parks & Preserves Clean Up and Celebration began 29 years ago as a way to engage communities in their local parks and forest preserves. Today, FOTP partners with a multitude of other groups including: Friends of the Forest Preserves, Chicago Park District, and Forest Preserve District of Cook County.
